Black Panther Legacy
Tupac's music and lyrics are all based around racism, violence, social problems, inner-city hardships, and problems with other rappers during the East Coast- East Coast hip-hop dispute. He has written some of the most influential music ever. Tupac was shot September 17th, 1996 in Las Vegas. He died about six days later in the hospital.
He had a hard childhood; he was born to a crack addict mom, alongside that, both of his parents and several family members belonged to the Black Panther Party.

Can You See the Pride in the Panther
As he grows in splendor and grace
Topling obstacles placed in the way, of the progression of his race. Can You See the Pride In the Panther as she nurtures her young all alone The seed must grow regardless of the fact that it is planted in stone. Can You See the Pride In the Panthers as they unify as one. The flower blooms with brilliance, and outshines the rays of the sun. -Tupac Shakur |

Tupac's Black Panther heritage strongly influenced his music. Race, although perhaps not as big an issue now as it was a hundred years ago, still defines people in many ways. Tupac is the perfect example, his music is rich with racial messages and he grew up surrounded by a history of activists.
