At the earlier parts of the 90's it seemed to be that every new hip-hop or hip-hop sounding song recreated the genera. At this time it was referred to ask the Golden Age of hip-hop. At this period, everything sounded new and exciting. There was no right or wrong in this style of music, because everyone was learning about it and testing it at the same time. Also at this time there were many advances in rapping style too.

From the late 80's to the early 90's was when rap really hit its prime for good lyrics. To many people it was referred to as the Golden Age. That ended around 93-94. Even though rap was one genera, many different topics were rapped about. You had some people rap about race, religion and their past; like Tupac Shakur. Then you had others rap about politics, "party raps", and materialism. Rap is constantly changing. Even rap now in the 2000's is different from rap that was produced only 10 years ago.
